A hands on experience preparing elements of each dish under the guidance of Owen Morgan

This hands on experience will start with ingredients prep for the first two hours in the kitchen – assisting to prepare elements of the menu for lunch, focusing on key Spanish ingredients using simple techniques to elevate your cooking. Then try your hand at Estrella Galicia’s ‘Perfect Pour’ under the watchful guidance of Estrella Galicia’s Brand Ambassador, as your lunch menu is finished by the professionals. Then, sit down to enjoy the menu with your host, each dish paired with Estrella Galicia beer

Guests will help prepare elements of each dish and course, all hands-on deck guided by Owen Morgan, each dish will then be finished in the kitchen whilst guests are learning Estrella Galicia’s Perfect Pour.

Marinated Gordal olives – guests will learn a simple marinade for olives
Classic gilda – guests will assemble their own gildas 
Hand carved Ibérico ham – try your hand at carving some Iberico ham

Citrus cured sea bream, coca toasts, Watercress salmorejo – guests will learn a simple marinade for curing sea bream & learn to make a watercress salmorejo

Paired with Estrella Galicia Cerveza Lager

Ox cheek served with corn, Swiss chard and bone marrow crumb – guests will assist with stripping the corn and preparing the swiss chard 

Paired with 1906 Reserva Especial 

Dark chocolate pot served with olive oil cracker, sea salt

Paired with 1906 Black Coupage

THE RESTAURANT

Bar 44 Bristol is situated in an old bank on Regent Street, Clifton village. The building has been lovingly and inspirationally refurbished bringing a fun and sophisticated restaurant space. There are some stunning works of art from Spanish artist Andi Rivas, which reference Spain and the evolution of Bar 44.

Owen Morgan – Estrella Galicia Chef Ambassador

Bar 44 group was founded by Owen Morgan, in 2002. Having fallen in love with Spanish food, drink and culture over time, he wanted to bring his favourite tapas dishes and a slice of modern Spanish culture to the UK. Owen founded Asador 44 in Cardiff, which focuses on preparing and cooking the finest of ingredients over charcoal.
